In accordance with their cultural norms, a husband, as per the traditions of this African tribe, possesses the authority to grant permission for his wife to spend the night with any male visitor choosing to stay in their dwelling. In cases where a male visitor arrives with his own wife, arrangements can be negotiated to exchange wives for the night.
In these Northern Namibian tribes, emblematic of an African tribal community, men hold the position of family leaders and enjoy greater rights compared to women. Decision-making primarily rests in the hands of men, while women are tasked with responsibilities such as reproduction, nourishment, and homemaking.
